Palette Knife Painting

This was an experiment with using only the palette knife and thick acrylic gel paint with only yellow colors. Turned out pretty well, with the edges of paint dried to show the real thickness of this paint. Impasto painting is using thick paint in applying to the canvas.

Using several shades of yellow including a light gold, was most fun, and seems to draw the viewer in with the center shape the way it is. Some think it's inside a flower, others the sun. Palette knife painting over the 3-D edge now, is a challenge, but really draws the uniqueness of this thick paint out. Click on the wallpaper link below to view the rich edges of this 3-D Impasto paint form.

Some people's comments:

Wow, this looks bitchen! There's all kinds of rich texture at the bottom of the painting, just waiting to drop in goops. It draws you in (dives arms into painting). It's more unique and different than any other impasto art.

This one is so light and summery. I love the way you swirled the pattern, and the graduating shades of yellow are great!
